1. Overview
iMatrix Systems, Inc. ("iMatrix," "we," "us," or "our") operates imatrixsys.com, edgeuplink.com, iMatrix Cloud, and the hardware, eSIMs, and software that carry the iMatrix and EdgeUplink brands. This policy describes what we collect, why, how we use it, and the rights you have.
We operate on a simple principle: the operator owns the asset, and the operator should own the data. This policy reflects that — minimum collection, clear purposes, and data portability by default.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account details — name, email, company, phone when you create an iMatrix Cloud account or request a quote.
- Billing information — processed by our payment processor; iMatrix does not store full card numbers.
- Support correspondence — emails, chat logs, and form submissions sent to our support, sales, and press channels.
2.2 Information from your devices and eSIMs
- Telemetry — GPS, CAN bus readings, sensor readings (temperature, humidity, door state, etc.), device diagnostics, and firmware version. This is the product.
- eSIM and connectivity metadata — ICCID, IMSI assignments, attach state, carrier and country, signal strength, MB consumed per zone — necessary to operate the EdgeUplink network and bill accurately.
- Operational metadata — device identifiers, network info, and timestamps necessary to route and store telemetry.
2.3 Information collected automatically on the website
- Log data — IP address, browser, referrer, pages visited, timestamps.
- Cookies — session cookies to keep you logged in; analytics cookies (if enabled) to understand site usage.
3. How we use information
- Deliver the service you've paid for — store your telemetry, run alerts, export reports, route traffic across the EdgeUplink network.
- Operate the website and the iMatrix Cloud portal, including authentication and session management.
- Communicate with you about your account, security, billing, and service changes.
- Improve our products — aggregate, de-identified analysis of how features are used.
- Comply with legal obligations, defend against fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent your telemetry to third-party data brokers.
4. How we share information
- Service providers — cloud hosting, cellular carriers and IPX partners (the wholesale interconnects that EdgeUplink rides), payment processors, email delivery, and customer support tooling. These parties only process data on our behalf and under contract.
- Partners you authorize — if you enable an integration (API, webhook, TMS connector), we share the data you specifically scope to that integration.
- Legal requirements — when required by law, subpoena, or to protect safety.
- Business transfers — if iMatrix is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of that deal; we will notify you.
5. Data retention
Telemetry you generate is retained for the life of the subscribed device — that's the product. Account data is retained while your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for billing, legal, and dispute-resolution purposes. You can request raw-data export and account deletion at any time.
6. Your rights
- Access & export — request a copy of your personal data or telemetry in JSON/CSV/PDF at any time.
- Correction — update account details from within iMatrix Cloud or by contacting us.
- Deletion — request that we delete your account and personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Opt-out — opt out of marketing email or SMS via the unsubscribe links in those communications, or by emailing support@imatrixsys.com.
- California, Virginia, EU residents — you have additional rights under applicable state or regional law; contact us to exercise them.
7. Security
We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest for telemetry and credentials. Access to customer data is restricted to authorized personnel, logged, and audited. eSIM credentials are protected by GSMA-standard SGP.22 secure provisioning. Device firmware updates are cryptographically signed. No system is perfectly secure — report vulnerabilities to security@imatrixsys.com.
8. International transfers
iMatrix is a U.S. company. If you access the service from outside the U.S., your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (including Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.
9. Children's privacy
EdgeUplink and iMatrix services are designed for businesses. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be announced by email to account holders and posted here with a revised "Last updated" date.
